An unusual house Casa Mila designed by the famous architect, Antoni Gaudi, can rightly be considered the main attraction of Barcelona. The curved ceilings between the floors of the round house resemble the waves, and the wrought-iron fancy balconies and columns complete the composition. It is surprising, but this house, amazing by the extravagance of the style and the modern expression has a hundred years of history; moreover, in 1984, the house became the first of all the monuments built in the twentieth century, which was included in the list of World Heritage Sites.
The house has a second name «La Pedrera», which in translation means "stone quarry." It is no mere chance: the walls of the building are made of solid gray stone.
