Davao City is one оf the main cities in the south of the Philippines. It is considered as a progressive citу, as the center оf business and tourism in the southern part of the country. Davao`s history begins from 1848th, when compared to Manila, the city is not very old, but, of course, this date involves the creation of the citу by Spaniards. Before their arrival in the area of modern Davao the native tribes existed. Spaniards had fought with them till they ousted locals from territory. During the 50 years Davao was remaining under the Spaniards authority, but in 1900, after the Spanish-American War, the americans came to the region and later they had created an economic base for the future prosperity of the city. During the World War II, Davao, like the country as a whole, was occupied by the Japanese army. Only in 1945 the joint efforts of US and Philippine armed forces the invaders were driven out of the city; and only in the postwar years, the city became the center of an agricultural region, and since recent times it`s also became the main tourist region оf the country.
