Berlin is the capital of Germany. The population of the city is roughly 3.4 million, which makes it the 2nd most populous city in the European Union. It is the largest city in Germany. Berlin is located on the River Spree in the northeastern part of Germany. The location of Berlin in the European Plain makes the climate of the area quite temperate. About a third of the city is made up of rivers, lakes, gardens, parks, and forests. 

The city of Berlin is home to many renowned research facilities, universities, museums, and orchestras. Many celebrities call the city home as well. In addition, there are many sporting events held in Berlin each year. The historical legacy and urban setting make it a popular location for film productions. 

The city is one of the most lively, cheerful, and welcoming cities in all of Europe. The younger crowd will enjoy the local clubs as this is where many fashionable parties are held. The clubs are also where new movements, styles, and subcultures are launched. The older crowd will love the shopping in the city, as there is plenty of it and the quality of the shopping centers throughout the city are famous throughout Europe. The best part is that the prices are reasonable.

There are many other great places to enjoy while you are in the city as well.
