Vlore - description of the city:

Vlore is a port city in south-part of Albania, situated on the shores of the same name bay. During the IV-century BC. the city was often referred to as an important port, which stopped the ships, which floated from Otranto and Brindisi. Vlore bay has witnessed many major naval battles of Roman times.

In the heart of the city on the Flag Square stands a majestic monument- Monument of Independence of Albania, dedicated to the liberation of the country from the yoke of the Ottoman Empire in 1912th. It is also interesting to visit the port city-a natural deepwater harbor, the largest in the country.

Nearby is disposed the museum of Independence- one of the main sight of the city. Very interesting and informative exposition of the museum tells about the history of these places, full of brightest events: about the time when Vlore was effectively the capital of Albania, the release from the yoke of the Ottoman Empire, and about the creation of the first independent government, and much more.

About six kilometers from the city in the Kanin village on the Shushik mount in the third century BC. was built the Kanin castle. This majestic ancient castle remembers Justinian Emperor and dominion of the ruler of the medieval Duchy of Wallonia.

The beaches of Vlore are the best and most varied in Albania. There are sandy, pebbly of rocky, and water there is always clear and transpired.

Popularity of Vlore among tourists is increasing every year, and this is explained by the presence there of the developed infrastructure- beautiful beaches, good roads, wide variety of restaurants and cafes, opportunity to chose the hotel with prices for every budged; from the luxurious five-star hotels, and ending with small private hotels and a rented apartments.
