Suva - description of the city:

Suva is the main port and the oldest city of the country. It is home to almost half the population of Fiji , the monuments and attractions of the city are of the most different cultures, what gives color and originality to its mosques, temples and churches.

Entertainment, excursions and places of interest in Suva:

The Fiji Museum is located in the heart of the historic Thurston gardens, near the Government House and the Old Parliament House. It contains the richest collection of anthropology and history of the archipelago. The building of the University, the frescoes in the church of St. Francis-Xavier High, "The Way of Kings", the Centenary Methodist Church and the Catholic Cathedral are of great interest.

At the distance of 10 km from Suva, in Veisari, is a cultural center of Fiji – the Orchid Island. Here are the Polynesian Cultural Center “Orchid Island” (with a huge number of examples of local flora and fauna), the Albert Park, the Bure Kalou Temple ("a house of spirit") and the Cultural Village.

A nearby island of Beqa (Bena-ga) is home to the unique tradition of Savau tribe - walking on hot coals.

Almost all the nightlife of the city is focused on Victoria Parade Street. Most of the hotels, restaurants and night clubs of Suva are situated here. The main trade outlet of the city, the Municipal Market, is not far from there.
