Rabat

Rabat - description of the city:

Rabat is the capital of the Kingdom of Morocco, its political, cultural and industrial center located on the coast of the Atlantic Ocean at the mouth of the river Bou Regreg. In addition, Rabat is one of the "imperial cities" of Morocco, along with Fes, Meknes and Marrakesh.

The city impresses by its unique architecture, which is a combination of Europe and the East. It must be noted that despite the fact that Rabat is a modern business center, it has fully retained its eastern Moroccan color.

Entertainment, excursions and places of interest in Rabat:

The main attractions of the city are the Kasbah of the Udayas (located at the north end of the Medina quarter and is known by the beautiful blue and white streets and the observation deck, which offers a beautiful view of the beach and the new part of the city), the mosque of Yaqub al-Mansur, the Hassan Tower (69-meter minaret of the 12th century), the mausoleum of Mohammed V, and the Royal Palace.

Furthermore, there are several museums in Rabat also interesting to visit: the Museum of Moroccan Arts, the National Museum of Crafts, the Museum of Antiquities and the Museum of Popular Art.

The Museum of Moroccan Arts "Udaya" was founded in 1915. The museum includes a collection of traditional women's jewelry of Andalusian and Moroccan craftsmen, the collection of ancient weapons, models of national Moroccan clothing, folk musical instruments, pottery, ceramics, carpets, Arabic manuscripts, and ancient copies of the Koran.
