Schwanenstadt

This small town, situated between Lambach and Vocklabruck, is today an important economic centre. In the centre of town stands a Neo-Gothic parish church with a 78-m (256-ft) spire, built in 1900 on the site of an earlier Gothic church. Worth seeing inside are a late-Gothic statue of the Virgin Mary, a 15thcentury relief of the Mourning for Christ and 18th-century Baroque statues of the 12 apostles. The town hall houses a regional museum which exhibits, among other things, Roman and Bavarian archaeological finds. In front of the town hall is a 13th-century well; the square is lined with attractive houses with Renaissance and Baroque fa?ades.
