The majority of the land located on the south side of Bygdoy that faces the fjord is public. This land offers quiet walkways in the woods and along the shore. At the southern tip of the Peninsula, visitors will find Hukodden Beach. On hot summer days this beach is often full of sunbathers. Hukodden can easily be accessed by a boat or on a bus.
Hukodden is located near the city, but the water at the beach is of good enough quality to be able to bath in. if you venture out to the furthest point at Huk, you will be rewarded with a wonderful view of the Oslo fjord. From here you will be able to see the Dyna Lighthouse located in the south as well as the Nesoddlandet. In the west you will be able to view the islands.
The waterway is busy with both pleasure crafts and ships. There are 2 modern sculptures located in the park area. The Large Arch was created by Henry Moore and dates back to 1969. Ikaros was created in 1965 by the artist Anne Sofie Dohlen. In the north you will find a split of land and here there is a naturist beach. Just beyond this is Paradisbukta or Paradise Bay, which is a popular bathing spot.
