Many people love to visit Norway because of the skiing. One of the most impressive ski jumps in the country is located at Holmenkollen. When it comes to ski jumping, it is always guaranteed to attract crowds, and this location is no different.
Holmenkollen was renovated in 2009 and is where national races and ski jumping events are held every year. This is the largest tourist attraction of Norway. Each year these races draw in over a million visitors. The ski races have been held at Holmenkollen since the year 1892.
In the year 1923 and 1924, Crown Prince Olav participated in jumping competitions here. The ski jump has had 15 remodels over the years and has been regarded as one of the most important arenas for skinning in Norway. There have been 3 world championships held here. There were also many events held there during the winter Olympics of 1952. The complex is the main area used during the Biathlon.
Visitors can see the jump tower and the ski jump at all times during the year. The tower offers a wonderful view over the city of Oslo. At the bottom of the ski jump there is the skimuseet, which opened in the year 1923. The museet focuses on over 4000 years of the history of skiing.
