Haydn-Museum

Haydn built this house in what was then a new suburb with money that he had earned on his successful trips to London between 1791 and 1795. He lived in the house from 1797 until his death in 1809, and composed many major works here, including The Seasons and The Creation. The museum is not very comprehensive but it has a few portraits, autographs, documents and original scores on display. A separate room is devoted to another great composer, Johannes Brahms. Here, you can see some furniture and a few mementoes as well as the clavichord, originally Haydn’s, that was bought by Brahms.
