Introduction To Grindelwald
Grindelwald is a municipality and village in the administrative district of of Interlake-OBerhasli, in Switzerland in the canton of Bern. Outside of the village of Grindelwald, the municipality also has the settlements of Schwendi, Muhlebach, Itramen, Grund, and Alpiglen, amongst others.
The village of Grindelwald is located roughly 3,300 feet above seal level, and it is located in the Bernese Alps. The municipality has a population of 3,761.
Winter Sports And Tourism
Grindelwald is well known as a tourist destination in the wintertime, and it has slopes for novice snowboarders and skiers, as well as intermediate slopes and challenges for the best skiers as well. Tobogganing and winter hiking are popular there too, so you don’t have to be a skier to have some fun. It is the typical location for ascending to the Wetterhorn and the Eiger. Currently, Grindelwald is also a highly trafficked summer resort with lots of trails for hiking in the Alps.
