Bo Summarland is the biggest waterparks in Norway and is also one of the largest waterparks of Europe. The waterpark is located about 2 hours away from the city of Oslo. Parques Reunidos own the waterpark. They also own Tusenfryd, which is another amusement park located in Norway. Each summer nearly 200,000 people visit the waterpark. This makes it one of the largest tourist attractions of the country. The park typically opens from the start of June and stays open through the middle of August.
The waterpark first opened in the year 1985 with 109,000 visitors. The following year the number of visitors increases to 148,214. There is a pool read for children as well as Magasuget. There are several television broadcasts done from the park. In 1987, several artists of Norwegian fame perform in the park. The number of visitors in 1988 dropped significantly because of a rainy summer. New attractions are added, called Saetra and Sea monster Sjur. Another new attraction called Hompetitten is added in 1990. The children’s area is expanded in 1991. In 1993, Flow Rider is opened. This is the largest artificial wave pool in the world. There have been several other new attractions added to the park over the years. Attendance to the park ranges from as low as about 100,000 to well over 200,000.
