Phoenix

Phoenix - description of the city:

Phoenix, Arizona is a popular tourism destination, and there are thousands of people that make the trek down there each year to get away from the colder winter climates up north. If you’re considering going to Phoenix this winter, here are some interesting things you should see and do there. Let’s look at some of the reasons to visit Phoenix, and some of the most fun things to do there.

Phoenix is the biggest city and the capital city of Arizona. It has a population of roughly 1.45 million people, and it is the most populous capital city in the United States, and it is the 6th most populous city in the nation after NY, LA, Chicago, Houston, and Philadelphia.

Phoenix is in the Phoenix metropolitan area, and it is the 13th biggest metro area by population in the U.S., with about 4.3 million people in 2010. Furthermore, Phoenix is the county seat of Maricopa County, and it is one of the biggest cities in the U.S. by land area alone.

It was originally settled in the late 1860s as a farming and agricultural community near where the Gila and Salt Rivers come together. Phoenix is located in the northeastern part of the Sonoran Desert, and it has a subtropical climate Even though it was located in the desert, it had a canal system that helped to create a vibrant farming community. Several of the original crops were important to the economy of the area for decades, like citrus, hay, cotton, and alfalfa. High-tech industries started to come into the valley after World War II, and it took away some of the prominence of the farming industry.

Phoenix has had a population growth rate of 4% every year for the last four decades. Even though the growth rate was slowed during the recession, it has already begun to turn around. Phoenix is currently ranked number six in population, and it is thought that Phoenix will be number four by 2020. Phoenix is near the middle of the state, and it is the launching off point for the different attractions in the valley, as well as Arizona.

If you’ve never been to Phoenix, you might think it’s just about cactus, cowboys, and Wild West-related stuff, or that it’s a big city with nothing to do out in the middle of the desert. You couldn’t be any more wrong. Phoenix is a hip, cool, and vibrant metropolis that is as modern as any other American city.

Phoenix can get pretty hot in the summer, but that’s not the best time to visit. The best time to visit is in the fall or spring, or even the winter. There is a lot to do there – especially for a young person. It’s one of the biggest cities in the USA, and it’s got a lot of southwest history, culture, and tradition that you can take in while you’re there. It will be a great educational experience if you ever do decide to visit there.
