Masvingo - description of the city:

Masvingo is the capital of the eponymous province in Zimbabwe, a city at 250km south of the capital Harare.The natural landscape is mainly grassy steppe lowland with forests ridges of granite hills. There is good conditions for the breeding of cattle. In addition to cattle,in the province good developed mining and sugar cane-plantations, which are irrigated by water from the Mukurikvi river. Travelers are buying tours in Masvingo, because it is the oldest colony and the contest city to such famous places as the Great Zimbabwe. It is the ruins of the ancient African city, which name country received. It was the capital of the Monomotapa Empire. Nowadays only majestic stone walls have been preserved in this place.

Masvingo history began in 1890th year, it was originally called the city of Fort Victoria. Until know in the city center can be seen the Old Fort. It is a National Monument of the country. Going on holiday in Masvingo, tourists can see scenic spots around the city, where located Mutirikwe river also, and where the recreation park with lots of attractions and entreatments.
