Madang

Madang - description of the city:

Madang is a city situated in Papua New Guinea, capital of the provincial area of the same name. it is on the northern area of Papua New Guinea near to the ocean.

Climatic conditions in this city are generally fairly temperate, with the most common high temperatures being around the 30s in degrees centigrade. The usual values on the low side are usually around the area of in between 22 and 25 degrees centigrade. In terms of precipitation, most of it is usually at the end months and beginning months of each year, with the middle months being quite a bit drier.

The island was first visited by a Russian biologist who gained a good relationship with the dwellers there. Later the Germans tried to set up a colonization in the area, but couldn’t due to disease. In the second World War, the Japanese were able to overtake the city with no resistance and set up a base of operations. It was during this time that most of the city was unfortunately destroyed and was in need of rebuilding to get it back to its original state.

Within the center of the city there is a big market. it is very large and bustling with activity. Items such as local craftsmanship, pottery, wooden carvings, or local jewelry can be procured here, as well as a wide range of fruits and vegetables. Aside from this, in the city there is a lot of beautiful sights to see in the form of nature. The city is sometimes known as on of the prettiest towns in the South Pacific area for this reason.
