Ljubljana - description of the city:

Ljubljana is located on the banks of the river Ljubljanica, at the foothills of the Julian Alps. Among Russians, the city is not very popular, very few know of its existence, and for those who do know, for some reason it seems something commonplace, gray and far from civilization. But this is not the case. Ljubljana is called "Little Prague", it has a breathtaking beauty, and after viewing the photos of it you want to travel there and to see the capital of Slovenia with your own eyes.

Ljubljana is divided into Old and New Town. Old Town is located on the right bank of the river. Here, you must visit the famous castle of Ljubljana (Ljubljana Castle). In honor of the famous national poet Franz Prešeren a square was named in Ljubljana. Here is a large church, built in the Baroque style. The Prešeren Square is one of the major attractions of the city. It is also worth to visit the Upper Square, where you can feel the atmosphere of the Middle Ages and at the same time have a tasty snack.

Another place that shouldn’t be missed is Tromostovje. These are three bridges over the Ljubljanica, designed by Jože Plečnik. The bridges are decorated with dragons.

You can have a rest in the Tivoli Park. Here is also the Tivoli Castle. Night Ljubljana will leave no one indifferent. For those who do not want to sleep there are night clubs in the city.
