Kisumu - description of the city:

Kisumu is the name of a city in the country of Kenya. This city is fairly big in both size and population count. It is the third-largest of the cities within Kenya’s boundaries. It’s the primary centre of the cоunty of the same name as this city. The population of this city is over 400,000 people living there.

The city is known mainly as a port city. This is because the city is situated on the country’s coast, by the ocean. Sea-based commerce flows within and also out of this city. This is a big source of income for the country. This city’s position as a port has been this way since the early 1900’s It was established primarily by the European traders, although it was an established city before their arrival. Through the years, the position by the sea has helped it to grow as a city to the place it’s at now.

This city has several noteworthy points of interest. These places are pretty interesting and many people like to visit and see them. The first of these is the tоwn clоck. It’s situated in the main central area of the city, on the main street. It was built in the 1930’s.

There is also the Kisumu Musеum. This museum started out in the 80’s. The style and layout is meant to be reminiscent of an old settlement of homestead in the city’s historical times. This museum displays many aspects of the city’s culture and lifestyle. It exhibits local crafts as well as local wildlife, flora, and fauna.

Another point of interest is the Dunga beach and wetland area. This is a natural environmental area that also has a community dedicated to saving of environmental beauty and sources.
