Kakamega - description of the city:

Kakamega is the name given to one of the cities within the nation of Kenya. This nation is located within the central area of the county which bears the same name. As far as global geography goes, the city is in the nоrthern hemisphere, being approximately 30 kilometers north of the equator. The city has a population of over ninety thousand citizens.

The city is inhabited primarily by the locally-centered tribespeople of Luhya. The primary activities of economical function of these people are farming and fishing. Additionally, the town is home to the operating center of one of the nation’s biggest sugar farms, known as Mumias Sugar. This farm’s actual situation is in the city of Mumias, hence the name of the farm.

A main location of interest is a higher education center, the Masind Mulrio University of Science and Technology. It was crated in 2006. Its location is in the centre of the town area.

A big attraction for tourist activity is Kakamega forest, drawing in many visitors from the world over to witness the natural beauty displayed here. Another big visitor attraction is the “Crying Stоne of Ilesi”, a natural geological wonder. The rock formation attracts the marvel of many visiting people, as well as locals.

This city has a very large rainforest jungle within its area. The city receives a lot of rain yearly and therefore the jungle thrives. The canopy of trеes above allows a variety of indigenous jungle life to live below. However, on the ground level, there is less vegetation due to the blocked sunlight. Mаny, many species of birds have been discovered in this jungle. However, not all forms of life here are as friendly, as the jungle is home to an extremely dangerous type of cobra, and safety is encouraged.
