Chitungwiza - description of the city:

On the lands of the East Mashonaland province is Chitungwiza town, which was founded in 1978th. It was formed as a new town after the merger of three villages which was located there, particular Saint Marys, Seke, and Zengeza. Three years later, Chitungwiza was given city status. Now it is one of successfully developing settlements, the main reason of it is that the city`s location is close to the administrative, industrial, and cultural capital- Harare. Nearby the city is a large international airport Harare.

Many citizens are working in enterprises and organizations of the main city of Zimbabwe. Traditionally, local residents continue to be engaged in crafts.Masters made a variety of African jewelry, wood and ivory things, which are then put in the souvenir shops.

The city is known as a starting point for exploring unspoiled African nature. Attractive landscapes, unique flora and fauna are attracting tourists from around the world. During trips to natural attractions can be seen how elephants move slowly toward the watering, as well as running playfully giraffes, and «regal» lions.

In Chitungwiza at any time travelers can take a trip to the capital of the country and see the locals sights, of visit Chivero Lake, where are available fishing and any water sports. Exiting holidays in the city can vary by skating on the lake by boat which can be rent in a large yacht club, which is located on the coast. The beautiful «Chivero» recreation park stretches around the lake. There are lots of wildlife and lush vegetation. There is also plenty of active leisure as a horseback riding, hiking, hunting, and living in a small well-furnished coastal houses.
