Chinhoyi - description of the city:

Chinhoyi is a city in the north central part of Zimbabwe. It is also the administrative center of the province of Mashonaland and the center of the Makadone district, as well. The city is located approximately at 125km to north-west of the capital-Harare; on the banks of the Manyame river.

Chinhoyi lies on the road, which links Harare with the Zambian border, which is located approximately at 250km to the north-west. At 10km to the south of the city center is a small airport for private planes. Chinhoyi is connected with Harare by the railway, but there is still not a regular passenger rail service between two cities.

The famous sight of Chinhoyi is  the «Chinhoyi Caves». Recreation park «Chinhoyi caves» located near the town of Chinhoyi. The park is considered as one of the most stunning places on Zimbabwe, which also offers a variety of entreatments for young visitors. Tourists can enjoy of camping and use a picnic area there, as well. The caves are on the way to Kariba lake, about 130km to the north-west of Harare. There is a giant natural shaft, which is 30 km in diameter and 45km in depth. At the depth of the mine is a lake with crystal clear water, which depth is up to 100m, as proved by numerous divers.
