Arawa

Arawa - description of the city:

The city of Arawa is located on the island complex of Papua New Guinea. Although in the complex itself, the city is on the island referred to as Bougainville, which is a self-governing regional area separate from the Papua New Guinea governing system. Formerly, the city area was used as an agricultural growing area.

The weather and climactic conditions present in this city are very temperate and mild. The temperatures are fairly constant year-round, with the degree values usually being between 20 and 25 in average reports, for both low and high averages. The most precipitation in this city is experienced in the middle of the year, mostly between May and July. The amount of days with rainfall never exceeds 20 in the rainiest months, and drops lower than 1o in the drier periods.

One of the most key points of the geographical aspect of this city, and its island itself really, is the presence of its mountainous terrain, with a great deal of the mountains being volcanic in nature. The area has a lot of greenery which is contrasted by the ruggedness of the mountains and volcanoes interrupting, towering above.

The city as areas which show signs of the Japanese presence on the island in the second World War, when they occupied the island. There is airplane wreckage near the city. The wreck is from an admiral, whose plane was hit after the Pearl Harbour attack.
