The main square of "Quarter of big channels" is Dame. Here are the Royal Palace Museum, the Liberty Memorial, the New Church (Nieuwe Kerk, 1408) and the famous museum of Madame Tussauds. Near are situated the exchange building of Berlaga and Amsterdam’s foot-gauge, a complex of buildings of the East India Company, the House of shipbuilders, and the Museum of Amsterdam’s canals.

Amsterdam is also famous for its museums and theaters.
