Amsterdam - description of the city:

Amsterdam is the country's capital and an incredibly attractive and beautiful city. Here, in addition to sightseeing, you can enjoy the so-called "author" excursions "Alternative Amsterdam" or "Crazy Amsterdam." They are devoted to the hipsters of the city: hippies, punks, sexual minorities and others. During the excursion, theory is consolidated by practical activities: visiting the "coffee shops." The cost of such excursions is about 200 Euros per person.

Climate in Amsterdam:

Amsterdam is not just another European capital, but also one of the most attractive tourist destinations for thousands of people. So it is not surprising that the concept of "low season" does not exist here. However, there are days when is a little less tourists on the streets than usual. Usually it is in the winter time (excluding Christmas!), when the days become shorter (daylight lasts for 8 hours) and the weather is too dank for long walks along the canals. July and August are the hottest months with an average temperature of +23 ° C.

From there, begin streets and "grachts" (canals) in Amsterdam, including the main street - Damrak. The historical city center is called "Quarter of big channels", the channels surrounding it include the Single ("defensive"), the Herengracht ("Masters channel"), Keizersgracht ("Imperial"), Prinsengracht ("Prince Channel") which divide the city into 90 islands.

The main square of "Quarter of big channels" is Dame. Here are the Royal Palace Museum, the Liberty Memorial, the New Church (Nieuwe Kerk, 1408) and the famous museum of Madame Tussauds. Near are situated the exchange building of Berlaga and Amsterdam’s foot-gauge, a complex of buildings of the East India Company, the House of shipbuilders, and the Museum of Amsterdam’s canals.
