Alexandria

Alexandria - description of the city:

Alexandria is a very big city in Egypt. It is also a big area of economic activity in this country. It is in the northern area of Egypt, and is the biggest city that meets the Mediterranean Sea. It is the largest sea port in Egypt, servicing ships that come in to dock here. Many goods get shipped into the nation from here. In its history it grew from a small colony into a city of great importance and significance for Egypt.

The weather in this city is like that of a desert area. The hot and dry climate is typical of the area in northern Africa, however, sea winds cause it to be more pleasant than it would be otherwise, and the climate is less severe. However, in the less hot times, Alexandria can receive big storms and rainy stretches.

The city can be divided into the old and the new sectors. This shows the difference between what is a modern part of Egypt, and what was left behind thousands of years ago by those who were a part of the historic empire. The old section is filled throughout with many interesting sites to visit, making it a prime tourist area. To this day, many projects are underway to find more of the old city.

The new city is split up very precisely into many separate sectors, communities, neighbourhoods, districts, et cetera. They are all a part of the central control of Alexandria though.

This city is wonderful for visitors because it houses so many things for tourists to visit and look at. It’s rich in history and heritage, and dotted all over with places for recreation; it’s a perfect vacation spot.

Transportation in this city ranges from air travel to sea, to trains, and also many highways.
